IT infrastructure for RDGG hospital handled by PROACT’s Managed Cloud Services

The Reinier de Graaf Groep (RDGG) is the oldest general hospital in the Netherlands, providing services to the inhabitants of Delft, the Westland region, Voorburg, Rijswijk, south-west Den Haag and the towns of Pijnacker and Nootdorp. The RDGG hospital has four sites: the Reinier de Graaf Gasthuis in Delft, the Diaconessenhuis in Voorburg, the Behandelcentrum Westland in Naaldwijk and the Gezondheidscentrum De Reef in Ypenburg. The Reinier de Graaf Groep employs 3000 people, including more than 190 medical specialists.

The hospital forms part of the STZ, the Association of Tertiary Medical Teaching Hospitals. Specialist medical training is at the heart of the activities of this association of 27 teaching hospitals.

The challenge: To further improve the service the hospital provides to patients as well as its procedures for its own staff, the Reinier de Graaf Groep is undertaking comprehensive digitisation of its records, which involves digitally recording all patient files, laboratory reports and X-rays. An important aspect of this is the storage, security and continuing availability of data. In order to meet this challenge, the ICT department took up the search for suitable experts with a call for tenders. PROACT came out top. “We have a good feeling with PROACT. They offer us a reliable solution at good value for money which amongst other things can make an important contribution to our launching of Electronic Patient Files,” says Marcel Slingerland, ICT Manager at the Reinier de Graaf Groep.
